México has a long and storied history with baseball. Some believe the beautiful game has been played in México since the mid 1840’s. The tropical weather allows baseball to be played year around. In 1925 the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol or LMB was founded with teams spread throughout México. The league currently boasts eighteen teams and plays during the summer. The LMB also has a long history of attracting players from all over the world. The Mexican Pacific League or Liga Mexicana del Pacífico dominates the winter baseball season with ten teams. In the early 1900’s the LMP attracted dozens of Negro League players. The winner of the LMP goes on to represent México in the Serie del Caribe every February. Our México hat pays respect to the forefathers of Mexican Baseball.
