Baseball developed from old traditional bat and ball games of the 1700 & 1800’s such as rounders, tut-ball, and stoolball. The word base ball (two words) was referenced in a children’s book in 1744. The first recognized game of baseball (one word) as we know it today took place in Honoken, NJ 1846. Today we have a game that is watched, played, and loved all around the world. Latin America has become a hot bed for talent and credited for continuing to grow the popularity of the game. With so many legendary Latino players filling the Major League rosters many are settling state side. They are having U.S. born children and blending cultures. Similarly, the United States has built a solid core of U.S. born citizens with multicultural roots. Our Estados Unidos hat is a nod to all the U.S. born baseball fans celebrating their bicultural love of the game.
